Hail King of glory lift ye up the gates
Lo, at your door the King of glory waits
Umbar the heart draw back the bolts
of sin
Rise up and let the King of glory in.
Who is He? The King of glory
Who?
Jesus our Lord to Him the
Honour due
Hail to our King, let all before
Him fail
And crown Him, crown Him
Crown him Lord of all.
Down from the mansions of
Celestial day
See him descend and robe himself
In clay
Suff’ring and grief for us he meekly
Bears
For us his toils, His agony, and tears.
Nailed to be cross of cruelty
And shame
‘Twas thus to bleed the Lord of
Glory came
Hear from his lips the agonizing cry
For us forsaken, see the saviour die.
Death could not hold him in its
Icy gloom
Lo’ in the morn He burst the silent
Tomb
Rising, He reigns exalted in the sky
Praise ye the lord let all the earth
