Can my God His wrath forbear?
Me, the chief sinners, spare?
I have long withstood His grace
Long provoked Him to face
Would not hearken to His calls
Griev’d Him by a thousand falls
Whence to me this waste of love
Ask my Advocate above:
See the cause in Jesus’ face
Now before the throne of grace
There for me my Saviour stands
Shows His wounds and spreads His hands
God is love, I know I feel
Jesus weeps and loves me still
Jesus answer from above
Full of boundless love Thou art
I fall down beneath Thy feet
Will Thou not forgive my sins
Bring my heart to repentance
That I may weep for my sins
Have contrition for my sins
Believe and ne’er sin again
