Chief Keefs Drops new album titled 4NEM

The album’s title nods to a bit of Chicago slang.

Chief Keef, the Chicago drill pioneer regarded as one of the most influential rappers of his generation, returns today with 4NEM, his fourth studio album and first since 2017’s Dedication. It’s also his first full-length project since the mixtape The GloFiles, Pt. 4, which arrived in the first week of March 2020, when the world was a very different place.

4NEM takes its name from the Chicago slang term “foenem,” or “foe nem,” which is used to denote good friends or homies. Chicago rapper Rico Recklezz breaks down the meaning of the word—and many other bits of Chi-Town dialect—in this interview with VladTV.

The album features the previously released tracks “The Talk” and “Hadouken”. It’s light on features, though Chicago rappers Ballout and Tadoe each guest on a track. Keef superfans not content to merely stream 4NEM are in luck. The LP is also available as an NFT.
