.... Later that day, uncle came home.what's going on isoken, you sounded so urgent on the phone, how are the kids,is everyone and everything okay,he asked her anxiously...
My cousins and I came out to welcome uncle,,,he took a thorough look at all of us,I guess he couldn't figure what was wrong with either of us...
Isoken,are you going to say something or not,why did you call me from work, what's going on,he shouted at her...
So dear, are you telling me you've not noticed the changes in your niece Esohe,she asked him....
Uncle came to me again,looked at me from head to toe, even had to turn me round 360 degree, trying to check what exactly he didn't know..
What is wrong with Esohe,she doesn't look hurt , except for her body, which is slightly hot,which you can take care of course, isoken,you called me home because Esohe is running temperature,what happened to all the chemist around, why didn't you get her drugs,he asked.....
Well my dear husband,what is wrong with your neice is not just any sickness ohh, she's pregnant,and it's very obvious....aunty said.
It sounded like bomb in my ears,that can't be true, pregnant?,how?, Nathan said I couldn't possibly get pregnant for the first time, moreover,I can bet my period came for last month,even though it was scanty....

Well,I have been observing her for days, she's always throwing up,always weak, dizzy,and hardly eats, moreover,her breast are so full,which other proof do you need to know she's pregnant...aunty said.
Isoken, throwing up, dizziness and what have you could be symptoms of malaria,so please come of it.... uncle replied.
Why not ask her, she's there,ask her, malaria indeed,aunty said giving a long hiss....
Esohe,you heard you aunty,is there any truth in what she's saying,are you pregnant?, uncle asked me....
No no no daddy,I I I can't be pregnant,I stuttered in reply....
Aunty gave a sarcastic laugh ....
Well, there's only one way to prove you wrong, first thing tomorrow morning,I shall take her to the hospital for proper diagnosis,, uncle said, walking inside, Aunty of course gave me that disgusting look....
We had dinner,which I could barely eat,I went to my room...
Could I possibly be pregnant,I mean, could aunty be right,oh my God,If i am pregnant that would be very bad, uncle would be so disappointed in me,I would have failed him,no no no,that can't be true,no one gets pregnant the very first time they get in the act,I try to encourage myself,,I was so lost in thought that I didn't realize it was so late,I managed to catch some sleep.....
The next day after I had finished my morning chores and joined aunty in making breakfast,we all ate, uncle then asked me to have my bath so we could go to the hospital...
I had my bath and dressed up....
Uncle and I went to his friend's hospital,I was asked some questions,my blood sample was taken and we waited for about half an hour before the result was out.and it was handed over to uncle...
He opened the envelope and read through,then he shouted WHAT!!!, starring at me with so much anger,so Esohe you are pregnant,he shouted,please calm down, calm down,his doctor friend tried to pacify him.....
I on the other hand was so speechless,I felt my whole life falling apart like a pack of cards..
We went home in silence,uncle was very disappointed,and it was obvious in his countenance,,,he didn't say a word to me as we boarded a taxi home....
When we arrived and entered the compound,aunty was already waiting at the entrance.....
From the look on your face dear, it's obvious my observations were correct,so Esohe is pregnant, eheennn,,,she shouted....
You are just a bunch of disappointment,a useless good for nothing, I was trying to make great woman out of you,that your mother,my sister would be proud of were ever she is, little did I Know you had already chosen your path,uncle said angrily....

Dear you see,this was what I was trying to prevent,but of course she labelled me an evil woman,I had to let her be for peace sake,see where it has landed her,,,, aunty added....

He's name is Nathan,he lives down the road,I said shivering.....

I knelt, begging and crying for uncle to forgive me,but he wasn't taking it,,,
His wife had gone inside my room and soon brought out my bag,,,she placed it in my head and she and uncle took me out, asking me to show them the way to Nathan's house.....
We were soon on our way to Nathan's place,but I was still begging uncle to forgive me...
We arrived there,and we saw some person's outside,uncle greeted them,and told them we wanted to see Nathan,,,,,
Hope all is well sir,a woman in her 40's asked....

Well, he's my son,she replied....
That was the first time I was seeing Nathan's mother.....

What are you talking about,the woman asked....
I mean,your son Nathan,had put my neice in the family way,and I have brought her to him,he said....
