....So you have come to ruin my life,you are the devil that has been sent to destroy me,one thing is certain,you would not succeed, Nathan said to me....
He walked to their door and was hitting it, crying, begging his mother to open the door,,,he pleaded for about an hour,but his mother didn't.
I just stood beside him, resting my back on the wall,I didn't know what to do or say,I was thinking about my own life too,has my uncle disowned me,I mean,how do I deal with all these on my own,does my uncle hate me now, he's the only family I Know, and the only one who has really loved me and stood by me,I felt so sad for betraying him with the situation,he wanted the best for me,he made sure I was happy,if not for the hatred of his wife,my uncle wanted me to have a good family in his home....
While I was still lost in thought,a man walked in ,in a hurry, Nathaniel,what is this I hear,what is this I hear,he asked Nathan who was still by the door begging his mother....
Good afternoon sir, I greeted the man,as I figured he's Nathan's father....
He looked at me nodding his head in response, apparently he figured I was the girl....
Daddy am sorry,please forgive me,I am sorry, Nathan said kneeling,,,
Two women were already watching, Nathan's father wasn't one that likes being the center of attraction...
He knocked on the door telling his wife he was the one,she soon opened the door to let in her husband...
He entered and asked Nathan and I inside...
What are you doing honey,why are you asking them inside,they would not come in here,,,his mother said
honey, people are already watching,I can't stand that, please let them in and we shall find a way to sought this,he said....
Nathan went in,while I dragged my bag Inside with me...
I sat on the couch...
And what gave you the right to sit on my chair,get your useless self off my chair,his mother shouted...
I quickly stood up in fear....
Honey,calm down, there's really no need for all these,his father said...
His mother sat tapping her leg on the ground in anger,,his father was just Starring at both of us...
Nathan went on his knees,and I joined him..
Mom,dad,I I I Know I have disappointed you,and brought shame to you,I am deeply sorry,I don't know what came over me,i am sorry, please forgive me, Nathan pleaded....
You disappointed yourself,not I nor your father,you have chosen your path,and to think my brother was doing all he can to send you to the university,this is how you choosed to end your career,your mates were busy trying to gain admission to the university,you were busy climbing a cheap prostitute,one without future,she has successed in dragging you with her to her doom,you are nothing but a big disgrace,his mother shouted....
Honey calm down,the deed has been down and can never be undone, please you have to take it easy,calm down,his father said...
Young lady what is your name,he asked me....
I am Esohe sir,I replied bowing my head...
His mother gave a long hiss ..
I suppose you are in school,he asked me.
Yes sir..I replied.
What class are you,he asked again...
Junior secondary school 3,I replied....
How shameless,jss 3,already running after a boy,his mother said.....
Have you seen what a careless mistake have caused you and Nathaniel,now you are pregnant,which means your secondary education is on hold,well,you both have chosen to start a family and a family you shall start,you shall live here with us, unto I am able to get an apartment for the both of you, take her bag inside to Nathaniels' room his father said...
Nathan took my bag inside frowning....
His sister came back from school later and was told what was at hand,she was two years my junior,but same class as me...
Your brother is nothing but a disgrace,you see this useless path he has chosen with this chep slut, he's going to regret it,his future is nothing but doom,his mother said telling Osato his sister.....
His mother was making dinner that evening and I went to join her,get out of my kitchen you good for nothing, she shouted at me,I quietly walked out and went to Nathan's room,he was seating on the bed lost in thought,,,,I cried out my eyes,I have been judged and misjudged,I knew my life would never be thesame again....
Dinner was ready, Nathan's mother served herself and her daughter,it was past 8pm and I was hungry,I had only had breakfast before the day's discovery and drama,I didn't know how or who to tell I was hungry.i decided to tell Nathan's mom,of course it's her home...
I went to the living room and saw her seeing a movie with her daughter,,ma, please I am hungry,I said with fear in my voice....
She looked at me from head to toe and hissed,she didn't say a word....I stood there hoping she'd change her mind and give me something,but that didn't happen....
Nathan's father came in,as he had gone out before...I greeted him and he answered,his wife and daughter greeted him too...
I didn't know if I should tell him I was hungry or not,his wife went inside and returned with his food,he soon Started eating,I was looking at him while he ate, wishing I was in his place, thankfully he read the signs,,,have you eaten Esohe?,he asked....
I gently shook my head in negative...
Why has she not eaten,you know her condition,he asked his wife..
I didn't plan for an extra mouth,the food I made is for my children, myself and my husband,she she replied him...
I see,well you have to come to terms that you now have three children,and not two, infact another is on it's way and would soon be four,he told her...
Esohe,come, sit and eat,he called me....
I was too hungry to decline such an offer,I sat besides him and hurriedly ate...
Honey,you gave her your food,your food,what are you going to eat,she asked him...
Well,if my wife says there's no other food for me to eat,no problem,I am going to go to bed on an empty stomach,he said....
She reluctantly went to the kitchen and got another food for her husband, while I ate to my maximum satisfaction,,if eyes could kill,her( Nathan's mom) eyes would have killed me without hesitation...
Nathan didn't have dinner,he was Inside all through feeling bad...
About a week later, mother got a call from his brother who had promised to take care of Nathan's university education,that he heard Nathan had put a girl in the family way,she was so shocked as to how he got wind of the information...
He unfortunately told her he wasn't interested in Nathan's education anymore since he has decided to raise a family....
His mother was still in shock,as her brother was the only hope to Nathan's education,just then, Nathan came home from where be had gone to check his jamb result,he had made it, he was very happy, but his mother welcomed him with the news from his uncle,this girl has succeeded in destroying your life,your uncle has withdrawn his promise of sponsoring your education,his mother said...
Nathan walked quietly to his bedroom and cried his eyes out,I saw him looking so sad,and some tear drops flowing down his eyes,i felt pity for him,I forgot I was in same situation as him, unfortunately there was nothing I could do ..
I decided to go visit my uncle if he'd take me back,so that Nathan's life can return to normal,,,
I went home the next day being a Saturday,since uncle is sometimes around on weekends,,,
As I walked home,I had so many thoughts going on in my head,I didn't know what my uncle and his wife reaction would be,were they going to throw me out again,I didn't know what to expect.....
