The examination is a way of correcting a deficiency that already exists. Therefore, it is not accurate or fair to claim that the performance in this examination has declined.
The Council is withholding the results of 7,192 candidates, which is 8.89% of the total number of candidates who took the examination, due to various allegations of examination misconduct.
The Council is investigating the cases and will present the findings to the relevant Committee for review. The Committee will then inform the affected candidates of its decisions.
The examination took place in Nigeria from October 27, 2023 to December 20, 2023.
From January 16, 2024 to January 30, 2024, 4,162 Examiners coordinated and marked the candidates' scripts at seven marking venues in Lagos, Ibadan, Akure, Benin, Enugu, Uyo, and Kaduna.
85,600 candidates registered for the examination, which is a 10.07% increase from the 2022 figure of 77,768. 80,904 candidates sat the examination at 568 centres across the country.
