My load of guilt doth weigh me down
It has bowed down my head
O Lord, remove my stoney heart
Give me a heart of flesh
Weighed me down beneath a load of sin
Death makes me sore afraid
Do wash me in Thy precious blood
And drive my fears away
My heart cannot find peace and rest
Until I cry to Thee
Beneath the cross to plead and say
That, “Jesus died for me”
Grant that I may have faith, dear Lord
Obtain this experience
Until old things shall pass away
And all things become new
