.....I told Ken about my intentions,he was surprised too...no wonder the show of kindness and goodwill,bad guy,he teased...
No no no,my kindness has nothing to do with my feelings,,,I would have also helped her even if I didn't feel this way about her,come on,of what use is money if we can't help those in need,I said...
Okay then,so what was her reply when you told her about your intentions,he asked,,well I haven't told her yet,I want her to concentrate on her fourth coming exams,I just wanted to let you know as my man...I told Ken..
Well,, it's your choice and you are an adult who knows what he wants,,,I don't really know much about her,you know it hasn't been long I moved in here,,,but from the little I know, she's a good girl, Ken added....
Thanks Ken,I really appreciate....I continued visiting Ken, Ehi and I became closer,she would come and greet me when ever she hears my voice,her exam was fast approaching,and she was studying so hard,even though the Johnson's wouldn't make life easy for her.....
Fast forward to few months on,she was already writing her exams,then one day,I had come to visit Ken,when we heard some chaos and fighting from the Johnson's apartment,,,,it was getting tensed,we had to go see what was happening,it was the Johnson's daughter and Ehi,they were about same age,and she was just dragging Ehi by the hair and hitting her, Mrs Johnson stood by and wouldn't stop her daughter, instead she was raining curses on Ehi who apparently was helpless..
I moved to the scene and forcefully held the lady and dragged Ehi free from her hold....
And who are you please,how dare you come to my house and mishandle my daughter,Mrs Johnson shouted...
Madam you stood there and watched your daughter mistreat someone else's daughter?,where is your conscience,I asked her....
And who are you to accuse me without trying to find out what happened,,,,how would a common maid refuse to wash my daughter's clothes, someone my husband and I feed, house,cloth and even send money to her mother monthly,how dare she,Mrs Johnson narrated...
Ma,I pleaded with Sandra to exercise some patience,I have mathematics exams tomorrow, I was studying,I told her I was going to wash the clothes tomorrow,but she wouldn't hear me out,but pounced on me instead....Ehi narrated.
You know what,since you are now bigger than my daughter and I,that you now give us orders in our home,get out,go get your rags and leave,Mrs Johnson said supprisely....
Ah,ma please am sorry, please forgive me,I would wash the clothes immediately, please ma,I am sorry, Ehi kept pleading...
It hasn't gotten to this na Mrs Johnson,come oh,come oh,this can be resolved, Ken added...
No no no,she must leave,she can't make my daughter and I look like evil people in this neighborhood,,,let her get out of my house,she said,went in and brought out a bag believed to belong to Ehi and asked her out..
At this point,I was very pissed,how can humans be so evil I thought within,she was bent on sending her out,she dragged her out, while her daughter threw the bag at her shutting the door...
It's okay, Ehi, get your bag,and come with me,I said....as we got towards my car,ken called me outside,,,where are you taking her,he asked me..
Home of course,,, obviously she's stranded,I can't allow her walk the streets of Lagos in hopelessness, I said....
Man are you sure about this,,,see I know how you feel about this girl, but are you sure she's the right one for you,I wouldn't want you making mistakes,,,I mean we could lodge her in a cheap guest house,and then she returns to Benin after her last exams which is in few days,he said...
I appreciate your concern towards me man,but I think I know what I want, she's the right one for me,more over you know there's an extra room at our place,she could use that for the time being,rather than being alone in a guest house,I said....
Okay man,if that's what you want, thanks alot for your kindness,ken said,while I joined Ehi in the car and drove off.....
She was all teary in the car,I understood what she was going through,,,you know you can't be crying continuously,else you could develope a headache,I said....
Soon we arrived at my place,and we both alighted from the car,,, welcome to my humble abode,I said...
We walked inside and I offered her a seat, instead she went on her kneels,,,sir,I really appreciate all you've done for me,I can't thank you well enough,I promise to leave as soon as I am done with my last paper which is about five days from now,she said...
Ehi,you are welcome to my place,I am not asking you to leave anytime soon, relax and feel at home,you can stay as long as you want,I said...
Thank you so much sir,I am very grateful,,,,she said...
You are welcome ma,let me show you to your room,I said and lead the way to the guest room,let me show you round the house,I took her to the kitchen,my bedroom,and Stanley's,,,you know Stanley right,I asked her,she nodded her head affirmatively,,, that's his room I said pointing to it as it was locked...
He lives here too,she asked...oh yes dear, Stanley is like a brother to me,and we have been living together since forever,I said..
Are you sure he'd agree to having a third party in here,she asked....
I smiled, Stanley is a nice fellow,a very nice one, trust me,he wouldn't have a problem with you been around,I assured her,,,, thanks alot sir,she said again....
Ehi, please drop this sir thing,I am a young man in my twenties,stop making me feel I am a grandpa already, please call me AD I teased.
She nodded her head smiling..... Stan got back home later in the evening and saw Ehi,he was surprised as expected,he took me outside and asked the expected question..
What's she doing here,he asked...
I explained all that had happened in the early hours,and my decision to have her live with us for some time....
Guy are you sure you know what you doing?,remember yourrrrrr, please I know what I am doing,I interrupted him,,,and please respect my decision,I said...
Okay boss,no wahala,if you are sure about all these,why not, she's welcomed, Stan said....

He went in and welcomed her officially to our place,and that was the beginning of my life long ride.....
I'd drop her off at school every day she has exams before heading to school...
You know you would make a good father,you are already practicing school runs, Stan teased me one morning,...
"Na craze dey your head",I replied him,,,but you see,I really enjoy every moment with Ehi,I am sure she's my soulmate,I had said....
I understand you are in love man,but please don't be too serious with her,,,you know in the end she may never be yours,I mean,,,, she's going to be mine forever,no matter what it takes or cost,I interrupted Stan,,, she's MY TREASURE and comes first, I'd do everything within my power to make her mine,I said...
Okay then,no problem, but at least tell her how you feel about her, before you go dey water soap enter your eye... Stan added...
I know man, but I just want her to be done with her exams, there's time for everything,I added...
Okay oh,no problem, Stan said as we drove to school.....
Her last paper was for a Friday,I had gotten a beautiful dress for her,a pair of shoes too,wig and a new phone...
Congratulations dear,I said to her, handing her the package,she was very happy, thank you so much sir,I looked at her strangely and she got the message, thank you AD,she said,,
you are welcome,you are now done with secondary school wahala, officially a big girl,I said.we shall be going out at 7pm to celebrate your graduation,and that dress would look so good on you,I said...
She smiled,and said thanks.....
At 7pm,I was dressed, waiting for her royal highness,she was looking so beautiful and matured,I was speechless,as I watched her walked to me....
Shall we,she said softly,,,,oh yes beautiful,I said and held her hands....
I took her to a five star restaurant,and gave her the best treat I could,,,
I was fighting myself within,not knowing if I should express my feelings or wait just a little longer.....
